What Turkey is experiencing today is no longer merely a political crisis. It is also a moral, intellectual, cultural, and institutional collapse. The intervention attempt against the internal structure of the CHP under the name of “absolute nullity” (“mutlak butlan”) shows that this decay has entered a far more dangerous phase.
Because the issue is no longer just Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
It is not only about the CHP either.
The real issue is the ruling power’s attempt to reshape society, the judiciary, the opposition, and even people’s perception of reality by using the full machinery of the state.
And even more frightening is the fact that a large segment of society has begun to normalize this.
An atmosphere has been created in Turkey where the law is considered sacred only when it serves the interests of the government. If a court ruling favors the ruling bloc, it is called “independent judiciary.” If it does not, it suddenly becomes “tutelage” or “foreign manipulation.” People no longer view concepts such as democracy, constitutional order, or justice as universal principles. They evaluate everything according to tribal political loyalty.
This is exactly how a nation begins to decay.
Because when law disappears, only raw power remains.
Those who hold power speak.
The rest are forced into silence.
For years, the AKP presented itself as the voice of the oppressed and the representative of the common people. Yet today, the influence of the same political ideology can be felt across nearly every major institution of the state. From the judiciary to the media, from the bureaucracy to universities, a massive ideological siege has emerged.
And this siege is not only political.
It is also psychological.
Because under the name of conservatism, Turkey has spent years cultivating a social mentality that glorifies obedience, discourages critical thinking, and treats political leaders almost as sacred figures.
Real conservatism should mean morality, balance, responsibility, and conscience.
But what emerged in Turkey often became the exact opposite:
a culture intolerant of criticism,
obsessed with conspiracy theories,
hostile toward science,
eager to label anyone different as a traitor,
and centered around blind loyalty to political leadership.
This is why millions of people continue to defend the same political structure even while they themselves are crushed economically.
People are hungry.
Yet television screens still repeat endless stories about “foreign enemies.”
Young people want to flee the country.
Yet social media continues to overflow with empty nationalist slogans and propaganda.
University graduates cannot find work.
Yet the public sphere remains filled with religious populism, polarization, and manufactured victories.
Because the real problems are not supposed to be discussed.
If science is discussed, the education system will be questioned.
If justice is discussed, the judiciary will be questioned.
If the economy is discussed, the corruption and patronage system will be questioned.
If meritocracy is discussed, political favoritism will be exposed.
That is why new enemies are constantly manufactured.
New crises are constantly created.
Fear is constantly pumped into society.
The “mutlak butlan” process is a direct product of this atmosphere.
It reflects the habit of neutralizing opponents through state power when they cannot be defeated democratically.
It reflects the desire to fragment and weaken the opposition from within.
And it sends a clear message to society:
“We can intervene in any political structure whenever we want.”
This is not democracy.
This is controlled politics.
And the economic consequences are devastating.
A country cannot attract investment through interest rates alone.
It first needs trust.
Legal predictability.
Institutional seriousness.
But today, even investors are asking:
“What political decision will tomorrow’s courts make?”
“Which institution will act according to political calculations?”
“What new crisis will explode next?”
That is why the stock market crashes.
That is why reserves are burned.
That is why the Turkish lira constantly loses value.
Because an economy is not just numbers.
An economy is also the psychological condition of society.
And Turkey’s collective psychology has been rotting for years under fear, distrust, and endless polarization.
Yet perhaps the greatest tragedy is even bigger than the AKP itself.
The real tragedy is the emergence of masses who have lost the ability to think critically.
Because ignorance is not merely the inability to read or write.
Ignorance is refusing to question.
It is making blind belief a habit.
It is turning political leaders into untouchable idols.
It is defending the wrongdoing of one’s own side no matter what.
And eventually, it is normalizing corruption and injustice for the sake of political loyalty.
Turkey today is suffering from a profound intellectual decay.
People no longer think through knowledge.
They think through slogans.
They no longer act through research.
They act through propaganda.
They no longer decide through conscience.
They decide through tribal instinct.
And as a result, the country sinks deeper every year.
Young people are hopeless.
Women feel unsafe.
Academics remain silent.
Journalists face pressure.
Art becomes barren.
The judiciary lives in fear.
And society slowly loses the feeling of being a normal country.
That is why the “mutlak butlan” crisis is not just another political event.
It has become a symbol of how fragile Turkey’s institutions have become,
how deeply contested the judiciary now is,
and how severely society has fragmented under polarization and mental decay.
And perhaps the harshest truth of all is this:
A country does not collapse because of external enemies alone.
It collapses when its people no longer wish to face reality.
Because propaganda works only for a while.
Fear controls only for a while.
Religious exploitation manipulates only for a while.
But a collapsing justice system,
a destroyed economy,
and a society that has lost trust in itself
can never be hidden forever.
Eventually, reality tears apart every slogan.

“Yarın hangi kurum siyasi hesaplarla hareket edecek?”
Cehalet;
Bu olay;
